'True Story', the debut album from Irish drummer David Lyttle, features 8 of his original compositions and an all-star line-up comprising some of Ireland’s most sought-after musicians. David Lyttle, at 23, has quickly become one of Ireland's most in-demand drummers working extensively with leading Irish players and musicians from the US. Performance highlights for 2007 include shows in New York and Toronto, and Irish dates with Jamie Baum, David Liebman and Jean Toussaint. Internationally-recognised saxophonist Michael Buckley has been a regular member of the Mingus Big Band and has also performed with David Liebman, Kurt Rosenwinkel, Kenny Wheeler and Lee Konitz. Pianist Myles Drennan has for the past decade been a major force in Irish jazz and US bassist Dan Bodwell, currently residing in Dublin, has worked with New York's Jim Black and John Zorn. Guesting on the album is the highly-regarded young Cork saxophonist Karl Rooney.
