"one of Ireland's most innovative Celtic music groups" - The Belfast Telegraph

From Co. Armagh, Northern Ireland, The Lyttle Family have been sharing their music with the world for almost three decades. Featured in the band are Anne (vocals, guitar, bodhran), Keith (violin), Jan (violin, vocals), David (double bass, lambeg, percussion) and Rhea (violin, vocals, bodhran).

Parents Anne Lyttle and the late Eric Lyttle were prominent during Ireland's show-band era, known as 'Anne and Dave'. From a young age their children  all displayed obvious musical talent and as they began learning their instruments, the family band began to develop. By 1990 they were performing regularly at festivals and concerts and continued to do so until the tragic death of Eric Lyttle in 1999. A  respected folk singer of the sixties, and prominent figure in Northern Ireland's music scene in the '70s and '80s, he is deeply missed by all who knew him. Recently Anne was presented with the 'Scroll of Honour' by the Tommy Makem Festival of Song for her and Eric's contributions to the folk song tradition.

Since 2000, under the direction of Anne Lyttle, former PR for Equity NI, the band have made regular trips to the US, performing across Florida, Georgia, Alabama and recently Nashville. Frequent appearances have been made on TV and radio throughout their career and the band were featured in the 2003 movie Puckoon, based on the book by Spike Milligan and starring Richard Attenborough.

With the valuable experience gained through regular performing at a young age, the children have gone on to become respected in their own right. Catherine, the eldest, is an arts officer who regularly co-ordinates festivals and arts programmes.. Keith is a teacher and performer in the Scottish fiddle style and Jan works mostly in classical performance and education. David, now a Doctor of music, is carving his name in the international jazz world with MOBO and Urban Music Award nominations, and Rhea is a talented singer/songwriter who along with Anne has collaborated on two of David's albums.
